The tenth issue of The Avenue was released on March 1, 1998. Contents included:
In this issue, we looked back at The Night Of The Proms series of shows, as well as the dates in Turkey, and the live chat from Turkey. Alan also spoke about his involvement with the band Millenia, and his plans to be the executive producer of their new record under the name Arc. Arc/Millenia founder Paul D'Acia also spoke about this new relationship.
A special bulletin was inserted that spoke of the late breaking news of Alan's role at EMI. Happily Alan will continue to be a part of the EMI Studios Group, but will be in charge of special projects instead of Vice-President.
In this issue, the "Of Note:" section looks at recent work done by Chris Rainbow, as well as the new retrospective set by The Zombies. Also mentioned was the new "Gold Collection" set of Alan Parsons music that was recently released in Europe.
Most people know Richard for his keyboard and sax performance on The Alan Parsons Project records, but in this rare interview, we get to learn how he started and how he was first introduced to the band. Richard spoke of his many sessions, and spoke of work with David Bowie, Eric Clapton, Mick Jagger and many more. Richard also talked about what he's doing now and why he isn't touring with the band.
Part ten of this section brings us to 1977, and the first part of our look at "I Robot" . Alan talks about the inspirations for his second record, and how he got his big break from Arista Records. Alan also talks about the vocalists and how they came to be a part of this record, as well as how some of the first performances turned out.
The question and answer section looks at people, places and pets.
I miss the melody and harmony that Eric put in the songs. Will he be back for the next album?
Where is "Ruelle de la Fonderie" that appears in a photo on the album "Eve"? What is it's meaning?
What is the Morse Code in "Lucifer"?
How is it decided who will sing which songs?
Being an engineer and a producer himself, does Alan have any favourites?
Does Alan like animals? Does he have any pets?
Contest prizes in this issue include: a CD autographed by Richard Cottle, and more items autographed by Alan Parsons!
In this issue, readers also got the chance at a special offer to buy copies of Millenia's "Thinking Rock", autographed by Alan Parsons.
This, and much more happened in Issue Ten of The Avenue!
